While this phrase is not taken from scripture. There are biblical verses that support it which we will look at
Earlier in the year, the Lord began to speak to me on how important it is that we speak life over our children and community members.

The roles of parents, extended family, the church, and the community in nurturing and guiding children is so important.
Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
This verse highlights the role of parents in teaching and guiding their children, but it implies that others in the community can also support this upbringing.
The reality is that not every home is a home for a child.
Each home is built differently. It’s. not just the walls, the furniture or the roof that makes it up but it’s the personalities within.
The concept of “home” ideally symbolizes a place of love, safety, and support, but for some, it may be marked by pain, neglect, or instability. It’s a lineage of good or bad and most times a mix of it. There are many factors that affect a household. Every parent is trying to parent the best way they can. Some better than others while others struggle.
Life is demanding and it’s easy to get tossed around by the busyness of life . My point of this message is as a follower of Christ we are to be in tune with what’s happening around us. We are to be connected to heavens WiFi daily and positioned some can pray God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Speaking blessings and not curses over others is vital, because believe it or not, those you speak down on , at some point you’re going to find yourself in the mix of what’s happening with and around them. Take a moment to reflect on that. When the Lord was speaking to me on this topic, he showed me so many situations that happened with individuals around me. I was even in the midsts of words being spoken over some and I’ve seen that negative word come to pass over their lives. But what was funny was when the Lord. Egan to show me how the one who the curse was spoke over came right back to the one who spoke it. They became as a nag or a burden .
There is power in the tongue.
Proverbs 18:21
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.”
In the deliverance ministry, We’ve learnt about generational blessings and the flip side of it which is generational curses. I’ve seen many delivered from curses that were placed on them. Generational curses is a topic by itself but for this post I’ll touch on the base of it; which is, when people say or do things that begin to affect others which ultimately is wrapped in witchcraft.
Witchcraft is not only the doing of spells or that which we see on movies. It’s simply the words or thoughts we have towards a person that’s rooted in hatred, jealousy and envy just to name a few.
When you look at the lives of many you see that each person is dealing with something different. That something can be drug abuse it can be poverty. It can be that whenever they start something, they’re unable to accomplish it or finish it.
Before blaming anyone for these things, we should be reminded that the battle is not against flesh and blood, but it’s the enemy. And while it is people that do, the real culprit is indeed the devil. Scripture does tell us to pray for those who curse us. So just to inject, Remember to pray for those who don’t like you.

Many people end up in bondage because of things said and done. The bondage can be formed from the very words that they themselves have spoken or from someone else .
How can I help?
As a believer,
Stand in the GAP!
The Lord is always looking for someone that is willing to stand in the gap. Someone that is willing to intercede for another. When we look at Jesus, we know that he is the high priest of our lives. He is the great intercessor. Many people need to come to know the Lord and a simple prayer on their behalf can cause ripples in the realm of the spirit.
Ephesians 4:29
“Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.”
Paul encourages believers to speak words that are helpful, edifying, and grace-filled, rather than harmful or destructive.
Take a moment to pray. Take a moment to repent of words you’ve spoken in anger.
This world lacks love. Jesus told us that the greatest commandment was to love.
Matthew 22:37-39
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”
Put aside pride and the image you try to carry. Put aside covetousness , put aside everything that makes you fit in with the people of the world. Ask yourself , what would Jesus do?
It’s the difficult people that need a taste of the Lord, the ones overlooked, the ones with no support. The complete stranger you pass by who looks frustrated . Say a prayer on their behalf. Simply prayer that the anointing to save , heal and deliver will locate them.
Plant the seed. The tug you feel to pray, or to speak a kind word of encouragement to someone is Holy Spirit placing a seed in your hand to be planted. He will do the rest.
1 Corinthians 3:6-7
“I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth. So neither he who plants nor he who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.”
Paul acknowledges that while humans may plant and water the seed (through evangelism, teaching, and service), it is God who ultimately causes growth and brings about fruit. The “watering” here signifies the nurturing and ongoing care that helps the seed develop. God knows exactly what each person needs , he’ll supply.
I pray this encourages you to be mindful, that you’ll be on guard to not allow the enemies projected words about another person be released through your lips.
Start interceding for the people that live in the same street / district as you. Start calling fire from heaven to fall upon the evil altars that are working against your community.
It’s time to claim back territory for Christ. To deny yourself and the flesh and take up your cross and follow the Lord.
Whether you’re a parent or a grandparent. A friend or just a neighbor, start praying for the people beyond your walls, beyond your bloodline. Pray for the peace of the Lord to fill the atmosphere around you.
Stand on and in your kingdom authority.
Declare God’s truth.
Every negative word spoken against a man is a lie of enemy over that man’s life. it’s not God’s truth. That’s not how God sees the individual.
Pray for your neighbors to have an encounter with the Lord. Pray that the veils will be removed. Pray for the light of the Lord to expel the darkness
