I AM CHOSEN

A Virtuous Woman

Chosen not Forsaken

A life surrendered to Christ is not an immediate pass out of the troubles in the world. The heat actually gets turned up and all the enemy’s agents are sent on a bounty hunt for your life when you decided to leave the world behind and follow Jesus. Picture it llike this, you were behind bars, a slave to the devil and now that you’ve been set free by the Son of God and turned your back on the kingdom of darkness, he the devil, will try anything to get you back behund those bars with his minions as the prison watchmen. But note this; his tactics are always the same. Through Fear and Intimidation and lies of who you are, lies that you will never amount to anything in this life, that God does not love you, or that your sins will never be forgiven it’s like words recorded that are always on replay.

I know that depending on your walk with the Lord there are times with it’s hard to understand why God would choose you. You may have a slip up where you unleash pent up feelings , many unkind words fell like grenades on the floor and then you’re like wow! Really?! Me of all people. If God just witnessed my behavior He’s definitely gonna take me off the list of chosen ones. And that’s the thing. He did witness it. Remember He said he’ll never leave us. So yeah , He saw that. He heard that!

But here’s the thing, God choosing us has nothing with us, it’s not based on what we say or do. It’s not about our works, be it good or bad. It’s about Him. It’s about what he can do through us to be glorified! That very thing that makes you ashamed and makes you feel unworthy is the very thing He’ll use to be glorified as He helps you through it. It’s like when we give our lives to Him we immediately get in the list. Pretty much as scripture says . We get our names written in the lambs book of life. So if your name is written there you’re on the list!

“Furthermore, because we are united with Christ, we have received an inheritance from God, for he chose us in advance, and he makes everything work out according to his plan.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1‬:‭11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

From the very beginning it was all set in motion. Now you may ask the question why ? Why did I have to go though this ? Why did bad things happen to me? Why was all this set in motion. My answer to that is . God doesn’t set bad times for us. That’s the work of the enemy. But God however does permit it. Look at Job’s story for reference.

Jeremiah 29:11 says I know the plans I have for you! The Lord knows what he’s doing. He knows what we can handle even when it seems like we don’t. He choose us to be a righteous people. He choose us because he wants us to be a mouthpiece in his kingdom. Each person was created differently. No one alike. Each different in character and personality. What you have to offer the world will differ from another persons.

Who are we to say we’re not good enough. God is the potter and we are the clay. Does the clay say to its molder what are making?

“But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, “Why have you made me like this?””
‭‭Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭20‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

If the Lord says we’re good , we best believe it!

I had a hard time believing that myself. That I’m good, that I’m chosen by God. I thought what good can I do, or bring to the kingdom of heaven. Look at me, I come from a broken home. I didn’t live the life society sets out for most, so Why me? Like really! Why me?

I may have a little insight into the why me! My story in a nutshell is I came to a place in my life where He showed me He was real. He showed me that he was aware of what was happening and all that happened. He was there, in and through it all. He gave me comfort, reassurance and hope! He brought me out of my troubles and for that I am forever changed.

There was a reason situations were allowed to play out! There was reason behind it all! Not the shame and humiliation I felt but the joy that was set before me. The joy of the Lord.

So my frirendknow that you are chosen and loved by Lord. You were created for a purpose and that is to glorify the Lord. Your purpose may look different from another persons and that’s ok! The end result should be the same. To point people to Christ. To share the good news.

The 12 disciples later known as the apostles, were chosen by Jesus himself. Look at each one of them. Their lives were not perfect! But it changed the lives of many and still does to this day. We’re imperfect human beings. We fall short but that doesn’t mean the Lord doesn’t see us. He sees the real us. He knows us. Everything about us. Trust Him, He knows what he’s doing.

My encouragement to you is this! No matter what you’re facing or have faced, God sees you and is mindful of you! He wants us living a surrendered life. Only then will we truly receive all He has to offer. Step into the holy place. Seek the Lord with all your heart and watch Him change your life. You are chosen! Chosen for such a time life this!
